The Greene County volleyball team split their wins and losses last week with two of each after one regular match and a Saturday tournament.
On Thursday, Sept. 8, the Rams hosted the Roland-Story Norsemen. After losing the first set 25-22, the Rams bounced back and won the next three, 25-18, 25-23 and 25-13, to win 3-1 overall.
Greene County had a big night in the stats department. Isabella Schroeder pounded 20 kills, Kaylee Stalder hit 14, and Emma Ewalt contributed six to the team’s overall 51 kills on the night. Katrina Heupel clawed for 17 digs, Graci Cooklin and Stalder had eight each, and Natalie Heupel and Alexa Peters each had five. In serving, Ewalt had five aces, N. Heupel had three.

South Hardin Tourney
On Saturday, the girls took part in the South Hardin Tournament, coming away with one win and two losses. The win came from a match against Oelwein, where the Rams went 2-0 with set scores of 21-17 and 21-19.
Natalie Heupel had 20 assists for the Rams, with Stalder at 10 kills and Schroeder with nine. Schroeder also led the girls in blocks for the match, with two and N. Heupel had one. Stalder, Peters and K. Heupel each recorded a kill.
The Rams faced Gladbrook-Reinbeck twice in the tournament, losing both 2-0. In the first match, the set scores were 21-16 and 21-15, with the second match ending 22-20 and 21-10.
In the first match, the Rams had 16 kills, Stalder had six and N. Heupel and Schroeder each added three. The Rams had five blocks as a team, with three aces. There were no stats available for the second match.
